I am a printmaker, with a practice which also includes painting, cyanotypes and artist books among other things. I am a printmaker, with a practice which also includes painting, cyanotypes and artist books among other things. I returned to Australia in 2011 after living away for decades (four of them) and, after a year in the Art Pathways course in Castlemaine in 2012, enrolled at RMIT to continue studying art. Since completing an honours degree there in 2018, I have been living and practising in Castlemaine. I am also one of 8 artists at the artist-run MANet Arts Focus Gallery in Maldon (open 11-4 Thursdays and Fridays, 10-4 weekends and holidays) and a member of Goldfields Printmakers, Firestation Print Studio and the Print Council of Australia.

My practice is probably best described as experimental, and I often hear myself described as technical (and sometimes even ‘nerdy’), due to my propensity for really testing the properties of all my materials and then challenging them. I am always on the lookout for something new to explore and incorporate into my practice (so come and see what I have been up to since writing this :)).

I will be working in my studio – or perhaps outside, weather permitting – during Arts Open and I will have monoprints and artist books in my signature blues for sale too, alongside sketchbooks pre-populated with inspiration by way of hand-dyed paper using spent camellia blossoms. And some surprises (even I don’t know what they are yet !).
