My work is contemporary realism. Still life is my primary passion and focus however, I am working more and more with birds which I paint either in their natural habitat or incorporate into still life works. I have moved away from painting pretty flowers enjoying subject matter with sculptural shape like fruit, succulents, plain vessels. Subject matter is all around and I find objects to paint quite randomly or at other times thoughtful compositions. I often find myself daydreaming looking at the nuance of shadows, loving their abstract nature. Painting the abstract shapes to create the form is where I become absolutely engrossed in my work. I am taken to “another place”.
