Carole Kernohan and Michelle Guest
We create using various techniques, including dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting, felting, silversmithing and use a variety of materials, silk, wool, glass, metal, wood and more.
We have a gallery studio space as well as our own individual working studios conveniently located in Taradale, 15mins from Castlemaine or Kyneton.
We are inspired by our conversations, the rural environment of Taradale, life experiences and the material itself to create and explore in both, small body of works and individual pieces. The size, form and materials used supports and informs each piece we make.
We have both exhibited locally and state-wide and Michelle has been part of an overseas tapestry group exhibition. We have exhibited as part of group exhibitions with our glass, textiles and jewellery.
2019 exhibited at Stonehouse Gallery, Warrandyte in the ‘Melbourne teapot exhibition’ and in Wangaratta as part of ‘Stitched up festival’ and participated in the ‘International scarf exchange’, GASP glass group show at ‘The Old auction House’, Kyneton.
We have both previously won prizes at the Royal Melbourne show and Bendigo Sheep and Wool show.
Being part of Arts Open gives us the ability to show our working studios and the opportunity for people to buy some of works. This is our main studio opening event for this year, otherwise by appointment.
Come see what we are making, which could be spinning, weaving, dyeing etc depending on the day.
Carole & Michelle are looking forward to meeting you.
