The Spirit Bottles of Giovanni Baptista

It is 1630s Florence and Giovanni Baptista, a man in lockdown due to a ravaging plague, believes that he can see into the future by looking into old bottles that he finds in a chest. Following a dream Baptista is summoned to a wine window where he secretly acquires objects that have been handed to him from the future. Using a variety of media this exhibition explores contemporary, and historical issues, through an evolving magical realist theme. An exhibition incorporating photographic darkroom techniques such as photograms and salt printing, plus sculpture, painting, printmaking, objects and text.
